Philips
model 256A-02, 1946
More
photos and detailed specification
The first 256A was
essentially a model 313A carried over to 1946.
This radio, updated model
256A-02, was a more modern version with some more common tubes and dry
electrolytic capacitors. It also shares a loudspeaker cloth with typical
radios of the mid 1940s, like the BX465A and BX565A.
This example has a dial marked '256A Indonesia'. It features a minimum of
transmitter names and was probably meant as a generic tropical dial.
